How to Pack Your College Bag for Your Guide Dog

Today, I have a list of things you can pack in your college bag for your guide dog. I have seen lists before, of guide dog supplies to pack for everyday use, and there is just so much. Let's face it; that backpack or briefcase does not take long to get extremely heavy. This list contains the things that I use when I go to college. With this list of items, you will be able to pack without adding unnecessary weight to your college bag.

Waste Bags

If you are at college all day, your dog will have to relieve himself at some point. Bring a roll of waste bags with you for this reason. You can get a waste bag dispenser that clips right onto your dog's leash. I recommend you get this one here: https://amzn.to/3ACS9kS

Collapsable Bowls

If you will be at the college for a few hours, you will want to bring a collapsable bowl for water, and if needed, one for food. You can get bowls with clips that can attach to the side of your dog's harness, such as this one: https://amzn.to/3P47Eqg

Treats:

If your dog is strongly motivated by treats, you might want to bring some with you. You can put some in a ziplock bag and put that in your college bag, or you can use a treat pouch that clips to your belt.

Food:

If you are at your college when your dog's dinner time rolls around, you will want to have a pre-measured bag of food for him. You can measure the food and put it in a plastic bag before you leave, and when it is time for your dog to eat, just dump the food into a collapsable bowl.

That's it! You can certainly bring as many dog supplies as you want or need to, but this list will help you pack minimally if you want to save space and weight in your backpack or briefcase.
